Keeping your things clean is another important part of the cleanliness process. You should sleep in a clean room and make sure you wear clean clothes. In addition, it is a good idea to clean your brushes and face powder puffs so that you can increase your cleanliness and reduce your acne.

For removing dirt from your skin it is very important that you use a mild soap or oil free cleanser that is specifically formulated for your skin type. Once you find a cleanser that you skin responds to you should stick with it. When you wash your face be sure to do so from under the jaw all the way up to the hairline. Everyday in the environment you run into pollutants and harmful elements, these can be removed through the use of cleansers. You can prevent acne breakouts by regularly showering and washing your face. So your skin can breath it is a good idea to remove any makeup before you go to bed at night.

Scars can permanently mark your skin so to prevent these you should never squeeze out pimples. Changing your make up to one that has no oils is a good idea for those who suffer from acne. You should also discontinue use of moisturizers since this can often make your skin more oily and lead to acne breakouts. Over the counter medications can also be used to treat acne, but if you don't think your condition is improving then you should see a dermatologist for the best skin care treatment.

Anti Aging Skin Care and Colon Cleanse

From Dr. Oz (medical expert and contributor on Oprah's show) to you your own family doctor, more and more physicians are now promoting colon cleansing as a healthy way to ensure we age better. For a long time, colon cleansing was promoted by naturopathic doctors, but this is long gone, mainstream medicine has now embraced the realities and incredible health benefits of colon cleansing. You can even notice that many more magazine are now talking about the importance and need to colon cleanses and colon care.

So why is colon cleansing so important?

When your colon is not working effectively, toxins are forced to leave the body through other avenues (some of which are quite unpleasant): bad halitosis and body odour can be taken care of with colon cleansing.

Did you know that doctors say that cleansing the colon cleanses every tissue and cell in the human body? That's right, every single tissue and cell benefit from a clean colon! Toxic matter in the colon can cause colon diseases, headaches, fatigue, muscle aches, lupus, and cardiovascular disease.

Cleansing the colon can also get rid of unwanted parasites that our bodies might be harboring. These parasites can come from insect bites, rare meat, vegetables not cleaned properly, and pets and even through sexual activity. In fact, it's more common to pass on parasites than it is to pass on a venereal disease.

Our body is designed for the bowels to move after every meal. That's right. One of two bowel movements per week is just not sufficient! Most westerners have trained their bodies to a couple bowel movements per week. When our colons become backed up, serious problems can develop: a toxic colon can lead to food intolerance and becomes a breeding ground for bacteria.

Even though you may have regular bowel movements, the waste can pass through the colon and still leave accumulated residue on the walls behind it. A dirty colon can cause the muscles of the colon wall to lose tone, and ballooning or pouches can form causing diverticulosis (out-pockets of the colonic mucosa and sub-mucosa through weaknesses of muscle layers in the colon wall). Food is trapped in these pouches and become breeding grounds for bacteria.

You might find this hard to believe but if you have any of the following symptoms, you may well benefit from colon cleansing. It doesn't stop there: depression, cold hands or feet, chronic fatigue, endometriosis, circulation problems, memory loss, low sex drive, gas, insomnia, irritability, allergies, body odor and bad breath. The same goes for brittle nails and hair, blood pressure, memory loss and inability to concentrate are also a few more symptoms of colon toxins.

Don't forget to consult your doctor before undergoing any colon cleanse treatments.

Skin Care Keep your skin healthy!

Skin is the largest organ of the body. It is made up of many layers of epithelial tissues which guard the muscles and other important organs of the body. The color of the skin varies among populations and it is largely dependent on the atmospheric conditions and heredity. There are different types of skins which ranges from the dry to oily types and this also depends upon heredity. It plays a vital role in protecting the body from pathogens and provides the body insulation and thermal regulation against heat. It also helps the body to synthesize the vitamin D and vitamin B. It helps the body to discard many toxic materials through sweat. The sensitivity of the skin also varies from person to person.

Overexposure to the sun may harm the skin severely and lead to problems like skin cancer, sun burn and wrinkles due to the presence of UV rays in the sunrays. The exposure of the skin to very high temperatures may result in dead skin and severe capillary damage. This part of our body always remains in contact with the outer atmosphere which contains polluting gases, germs, different types of infections, dust etc. Therefore it always remains under threat of catching infections and damage. For the protection of this layer of the body we cover it by clothes but some of the portions always remain in the open and carry a great risk of skin damage and getting infections.

From the ancient time various measures were adopted world over for the protection of the skin, which included lubricating it with the help of different oils and herbs, application of toning, moisturizing and cleansing preparations etc. Most of the time only washing of the skin with water or soap doesn't help much it requires nourishment also.

Today every one desires to have the glowing healthy skin often portrayed by the professional models but only few of us know about the real facts. These professional models do not always have healthy skin, what we see in the pictures is the work of very talented makeup artists or the photo technicians. There are lots and lots of exaggerated claims by the companies producing skin care products, but in real terms they do not offer what they actually claim. Here are some facts for you:

Cleansers: Clean skin definitely offers some protection against pimples but too much cleansing actually damages the skin. Careful application of good cleanser removes the impurities partially and also removes the excess of the skin oils which helps to prevent pimples and blemishes but this job can be done quite effectively with a god quality of soap and water or with water alone.

Toners: There are lots of claims by the companies that toners make the skins pores large and therefore make it easier to remove the excess oil within them. To some extent it is true that toners remove the excess oil left by the cleansers but here again the same action can be achieved with the help of soap and water or water alone. As far as the statement that it assists by making the pores of the skin large is a fake claim.

Moisturizers: Most of us do not require the moisturizers as our skin has its own way to achieve the correct level of balance of the moisture levels. Some evidence was found that some of the commercial moisturizers really have skin protecting ingredients. As such there is no need to use the moisturizers but if you have a fancy feeling about it, go ahead.

The best products for your skin are the natural and herbal products that really nourish and maintain your skin. There are some more precautions about the skin protection if you follow them you can minimize the damage up to certain extent.

Protect your skin from the exposure to sun as this will help to reduce the risk of aging of the skin layer as long as other dangers to the skin are also minimized. Avoid smoking and drinking of alcohol as this also helps to lesson the skin from the damages. Eat healthy food this helps to nourish the skin.

For the protection of your skin you require only natural care, you can't get healthy skin by spending lots of money.

Sensitive Skin Care - Do You Have Sensitive Skin?

Contrary to what you might have heard, sensitive skin isn't considered a medical condition. When someone says he or she has sensitive skin, it typically means the skin has become irritated, red, swollen and/or itchy as a result of either an environmental condition or use of a certain product. The term is also used to describe changes to a person's skin in response to allergic reactions.

Why can skin be sensitive?

Although there are several reasons why skin can be sensitive, the most common is that skin is reacting negatively to a certain product or possibly some combination of products. Think about your daily skin care regime, specifically the number of products you use. Soaps, cleansers, toners, blemish reducers, blemish concealers, foundation, blush, facial masks, after shave lotion the list never ends! You probably use products that are made by a number of different manufacturers, too. While your intentions are good, some skin cannot tolerate such an assault.

Causes of sensitive skin

Trying to pinpoint the cause of sensitive skin is not always as simple as discontinuing use of a certain product. Because of the nature of sensitive skin, it can take hours or even days before the signs of sensitivity are visible. And the sensitivity may not be caused by a product. Exposure to the sun can create skin problems, as can extremely hot water. Your laundry detergent, fabric softeners, shampoo, perfume, hair spray, and even the household cleaning products you use can be the culprit. Certain foods and even some plants can cause symptoms of an allergic reaction as well.

Healthy skin is less sensitive because it's able to act as an effective barrier. Sunburned skin, skin that's excessively dry and skin that is otherwise damaged tends to be more sensitive. That's one reason why people who don't normally have sensitive skin develop skin sensitivity during winter months when dry, cold air strips skin of its protective moisture.

How to treat sensitive skin

Before sensitive skin can be treated, it's important to figure out the underlying cause of the problem. It may be necessary to seek the advice of a dermatologist as you may have a skin condition such as eczema, psoriasis or rosacea. Here are some tips for treating sensitive skin. Start reading product labels - the fewer ingredients, the better. Avoid products containing alcohol, fragrances, botanicals, antibacterial, ethanol and propylene glycol.

Spot test new facial products before applying to entire face. Apply a few dabs behind ears for 5 days, and if there's no reaction, apply beside eyes for another 5 days. If all goes well, full facial coverage likely will be safe. Choose natural fabrics for pillowcases and washcloths like 100% cotton or silk instead of synthetic materials. Check your 'cotton' balls, too. Some look like cotton but really are polyester.

Eat a balanced diet to ensure skin gets the nutrients it needs to remain healthy.

Keep skin moist and always apply sun protection.

Gently clean skin. Avoid harsh products like scrubbing mitts, excessively hot water and abrasive exfoliating products.

Dry Skin Care Products - How To Get Rid Of Dry Itchy Skin

Dry skin is most common in your lower legs, arms, flanks (sides of the abdomen), and thighs. More serious dry skin conditions, such as the inherited group of disorders called ichthyosis, can sometimes be disfiguring enough to cause psychological distress. Dry skin has a low level of sebum and can be prone to sensitivity. Dryness is exacerbated by wind, extremes of temperature and air-conditioning, all of which cause the skin to flake, chap and feel tight. There may be tiny expression lines on these spots and at the comers of the mouth.. It usually feels "tight" and uncomfortable after washing unless some type of moisturizer or skin cream is applied. This type of skin is tightly drawn over bones. It looks dull, especially on the cheeks and around the eyes. There may be tiny expression lines on these spots and at the comers of the mouth. A healthy stratum corneum is about 30 percent water, giving your skin resilience and elasticity. Most of the water is in the interior of the stratum corneum in the outer layers, the water level depends on the amount of humidity in the air. The drier the air, the drier the outermost layer of skin.

Dry skin has a low level of sebum and can be prone to sensitivity. Eczema may cause dry skin. Most dry skin is caused by environmental exposures, such aspsoriasis-This skin condition is marked by a rapid buildup of rough, dry, dead skin cells that form thick scales. Thyroid disorders-Hypothyroidism, a condition that occurs when your thyroid produces too little thyroid hormones, reduces the activity of your sweat and oil glands, leading to rough, dry skin. Hot baths and showers. Frequent showering or bathing, especially if you like the water hot and your baths long, breaks down the lipid barriers in your skin. Dehydration. Severe diarrhea and vomiting, a high fever, profuse sweating during exercise or simply not drinking enough liquids can cause your body to lose more fluid than you take in. Weather. In general, your skin is driest in winter, when temperatures and humidity levels plummet. Winter conditions also tend to make many existing skin conditions worse.

Dry Skin Rash, Psoriasis or eczema are all unpleasant skin conditions. The positive aspects of it are that there is less acne and shininess. It is very important to take care of the skin since the dryness can turn into deep cuts and hurt, especially on the heals. Oatmeal is very nutritionist and doesn’t have a lot of calories in it. It has curbs, amino, fiber, and vitamins like B and E. Mix oatmeal with vanila extract and baking soda add to a cup of warm water to melt the powder, then add to a tub and have a bath for 30-40 minutes. Try to relax and you will get a much better looking skin. Skin usually becomes dry because of a lack of sebum. Sebum is the natural protective oils which the skins pores secrete to protect our skin from the elements. If the production of sebum drops off, particularly if our diets aren't good, or as we get older, our skin can become increasingly dry as our skin finds it increasingly difficult to retain moisture and grow healthy.

Reasons to use Natural Based Skin Healing Products

Do you have problems with your skin? If you answered yes, you are just like millions of other people. These problems can include anything from acne to stretch marks to eczema and much more. Of course, there is no reason to think that you have to live with these problems. In fact, with the use of the proper healing products you can bring your skin back to normal in no time at all.

Here are three reasons to try natural based skin healing products.

1. In many cases, natural based products are healthier and safer than anything your dermatologist could prescribe. After all, natural based products come from the earth which gives them a high degree of safety for the most part.

2. As you can imagine, products that are prescribed by a doctor can cost a lot of money. And spending money on things such as skin care products is not always fun. Luckily, when you rely on natural based skin healing products you should be able to save some money. There are plenty of low priced alternatives that work just as good as a product that you could get via a prescription.

3. Simply put, many people have found out that natural based skin healing products are more effective. In other words, they work to get the job done when main stream products are struggling to show any positive effects. At the very least, you should give natural based skin healing products a try if nothing else is working.

These are three of the best reasons to use natural based products as opposed to a manufactured medication prescribed by a doctor. You may find out that these products do not work for you. But guess what? Until you give natural healing a try, you will never know for sure what results could come forth.

The Skinny Guy's Guide To Nutrition

"Give me a 64-ounce steak, double-baked potato with extra sour cream and an apple pie for dessert. No, not a slice give me the whole pie, please."

If you have ever had the opportunity to go out with a bodybuilder for dinner, you would be familiar with that kind of order delivered to the distressed waitress. These high-carbohydrate, high-protein, and high-fat diet meals were the popular method for packing on muscle and climbing the scale. "I'll pack on all the weight I can now, then melt off the fat later," was the common motto.

Many bodybuilders put a lot of focus into the details of their nutritional strategy. A small food scale, calculator, note pad and pencil are common items found in their kitchen. Some competitive bodybuilders go to the extreme of weighing and measuring everything wherever they go and scribbling numbers into their notepad after every meal.

Obviously, not every skinny guy has the same aspirations, desire and determination to live the life of a bodybuilder. Skinny guys will be more successful today if they have a quick and convenient plan to follow that involves minimal measuring and minimal number crunching.

The See Food Diet Is NOT The Answer

The reality is that many skinny guys' nutritional level does not exceed the See Food Diet, that is, 'see food' and eat it. Not a bad option if you can avoid getting a potbelly in the process. If this is you, then consider yourself blessed with a Lamborghini-style metabolism. Go right ahead and eat whatever and whenever you want until you're ready to audition for Rambo IV.

For the most part, the See Food Diet is typically not the most healthy meal plan since it puts zero restrictions on any food categories and is more a concept to shift a skinny guy's mind-set than anything else. These days, the majority of readers should know the fallacy of a See Food Diet. Sure, you can eat a super high calorie diet, like the See Food Diet, and add some muscle, but you'll add even more fat. And from personal experience, and I'm sure many of you can personally testify, putting the fat on is much easier than taking it off! Conveniently, bodybuilders now have an "off-season shape" card to flash year-round to excuse themselves of looking like a pregnant powerlifter.

Muscle-Building Nutrition Principles

Mastering the principles of nutrition should be like mastering the principles of training simple. Master the basics and execute them consistently. Think about the 80/20 rule. 80% of your results will come from 20% of your knowledge. Taking what you already know and putting it into action consistently is the magic formula. Let's go over the most important nutrition principles you'll need to practice to get your body growing.

Principle #1: Eat Often Every 2.5 to 3 Hours

Don't expect to pack on quality mass muscle without body fat on three square meals a day. This would lead to massive quantities of both protein and carbs at each meal. Your body can only store so many calories per meal, so guess what this results in? Bloating, poor digestion and unwanted body fat.

Your first meal should be consumed within 15-30 minutes of waking up and consumed every 2.5 to 3 hours. Set your stopwatch to beep until you get something in your body. Don't view these meals as burdensome but as opportunities to fuel and grow your muscles. Look at them as growth surges. Think of the next meal as a fuller chest, broader shoulders, bigger arms and rock-hard abs!

And if you miss a meal, visualize a sea of piranhas eating up your muscle tissue like it's an all-you-can-eat buffet. And those deadly piranhas are eating up your CURRENT muscle that you are not even satisfied with. They are actually making your muscles

smaller. No, you will not lose an inch on your arms if you miss one meal, but once you start averaging 3-4 instead of 6-8 meals a day, don't be upset when people look surprised when you tell them you work out with weights regularly!

So how many meals should you be eating? That's easy - just divide the time you're awake by 2 or 3. I would suggest mastering eating every 3 hours before you consider every 2 hours. So if you're awake 18 hours a day, eat 6 meals.

What if one of those meals falls right before bedtime? Then eat up! Take the opportunity to eat. If we went to the extreme we would eat every 3 hours throughout the night as well. No matter what you have heard on this (never eat after 7 P.M. garbage) ignore it. Trust me!

Also, don't view these feeding opportunities as snacks.' This is a wimpy word mentality that should not be in your vocabulary if you are trying to build muscle. Do you think Ronnie Coleman says, Hey, I think I'm going to go eat a snack?' Every 3 hours you should be eating decent size meals that will make your body better.

Principle #2: Eat A Variety Of Foods

It is easy to get into a robotic state of nutrition where we eat the exact same foods every day, ingesting the same breakfast, lunch and dinner and the only time we eat differently is when we go out for dinner or someone else cooks for us. It is easier to choose convenience over variety.

Just like our training that we rotate around to prevent boredom, you should rotate your food selection. Normally, you will eat whatever is in your house, so the best strategy to eating a healthy variety is to shop for different foods each week. This will help balance out your diet and help you measure the response a variety of foods. Don't go for the boring and easy route.

Principle #3: Eat Enough Calories

Building muscle is an eating game because your muscles grow on calories. Not eating enough calories is like an attempt to buy a $50,000 car with only $25,000 in the bank. It's not going to happen. If you are not gaining at least 1-2 pounds per week, then add some extra carbohydrates and proteins to your breakfast, pre-workout meal or post-workout meal.

THERE IS NO WAY AROUND THIS STEP. Even if you have the perfect training routine, you will never grow unless you provide your body with the proper amount of nutrients. It's like saying you want to build a house but you do not have enough bricks, cement and wood. It will be impossible to build that house. It's like saying you want to race a car as fast as possible but you don't have any gasoline or oil. It's downright impossible.

If you wish to ensure that your muscles have enough fuel to support your workouts, lift heavy weights for high reps, recover from workout to workout and, let's not forget, GROW NEW MUSCLE, then you have to keep track of what you are eating every day. There is no way around it. This is the number one reason why skinny guys never gain weight or why anybody for that matter will not make quality gains that they so desperately strive for.

Keeping track of what you eat is a lot easier than it sounds it's probably why most people avoid it, because they perceive it to be difficult.

Sure, you're going to have to take some extra time to read containers and labels, but if this method will promise another 20 pounds in a few months from now, is it not worth it? And the good news is that your brain will create a new file to store all your new nutrient calculations, and since you are eating from the majority of the same foods, your memory food bank' will expand quickly.

Principle #4: Eat 40-60 Grams Of Protein Per Meal

Building muscle is not on your body's 'to do' list simple survival is. Not getting enough protein for your internal organs results in your body robbing it from your muscle tissue. Your body cannibalizes itself for the amino acids it needs! This is the polar opposite of what skinny guys want.

Proteins should make up at least 35% of your overall caloric intake. This translates to 40-60 grams of protein per meal for males less then 200 lbs and will be enough to maintain your appetite, increase your muscle mass, accelerate recovery and keep body fat levels low. Hit this level and you're doing well.

It is better to get your protein from whole, complete, and lean protein. Remember that protein is a costly food and burns twice as much energy as carbs and three times as much energy as fat. You need protein to maximally turbo-charge your metabolism, improve your muscle mass and accelerate recovery.

Aim for lean meats such as ground beef, chicken, turkey, etc. Aim for fish such as salmon, tuna, orange roughy, etc. Aim for Omega 3 eggs and pasteurized egg whites. Aim for dairy from cottage cheese, yogurt and partly skimmed cheeses. And if you have to resort to supplement shakes, go for whey, casein or milk protein blends.

Principle #5: Eat 60-80 Grams Of Carbohydrate per Meal

Not getting enough carbohydrates will make you feel like you're carrying a bear on your back throughout your workouts. Your body's gas tank is comprised of carbohydrates. No carbs and don't expect to get that car too far.

A lack of carbs in your diet can slow the muscle-building process because your muscle tissue can be used as energy if your body's preferred source of energy, carbs, are not available.

It is best to get your carbohydrates from a variety of high-fiber, complex and low-glycemic carbohydrates as opposed to simple carbs (sugars) found in fast food, fried food, processed food and junk food. Complex carbs release a slower and longer lasting energy that is critical for your intense training workouts. Complex carbs will rarely get converted to fat unless you are clearly eating too many of them. If you are gaining more fat around your midsection as opposed to muscle, then you know you should cut back on your complex carbs or add a few cardio workouts.

Aim for high-complex, muscle-building carbs such as bran, barley, buckwheat, beans, brown rice, cornmeal, oatmeal, pasta, potatoes and whole grains.

Principle #6: Eat 20-30 Grams Of Fat Per Meal

About 30% of your diet should consist of fat - this number should remain pretty consistent for everyone. And as a skinny guy or anybody who wants to maximize muscle growth, then eating 30% of your intake from fat is critical for boosting testosterone levels. However, the key is to balance out your intake between saturated, monounsaturated and polyunsaturated fat. If you achieve 1/3 in each of these, then you will optimize your health and muscle gains. This is not as complicated as it looks.

Since North Americans are harshly deficient in mono (olive oil) and poly fats (from fish oils) and get enough of saturated fats as it is, your job is to simply include more olive oil and fish oil into your diet. This is something that can be recommended for every man and women and has no potential side effects. Again, don't worry; the meal plans included have got you covered.

The only fats you MUST avoid at all costs - for so many reasons - are trans fats.

Trans fatty acids, also known as trans fat, is an artery-clogging fat that is formed when vegetable oils are hardened into margarine or shortening. It is found in many other foods besides margarine and shortening, including fried foods like French fries and fried chicken, doughnuts, cookies, pastries and crackers. In the United States, typical French fries have about 40 percent trans fatty acids and many popular cookies and crackers range from 30 percent to 50 percent trans fatty acids. Doughnuts have about 35 percent to 40 percent trans fatty acids.

To determine the amount of trans fat in a food you must know what to look for on the food labels. Whenever you see shortening, hydrogenated or partially hydrogenated oil higher up on the list of the ingredients, the more trans fat.

Principle #7: Eat Vegetables With Every Meal

How are vegetables supposed to promote muscle gain? Your mom was right when she told you to eat up all your vegetables if you wanted to grow big and strong. Finally, the muscle-nerds' are catching up. Not only are vegetables loaded with vitamins and minerals but they also contain important plant chemicals called phytochemicals that are essential for optimal physiological functioning.

The most neglected benefit of eating vegetables is their role in recovery. Sure, you need calories to grow, but you also need these veggies for their high antioxidant profile that will help reduce the amount of free radicals from heavy training, and they will accelerate recovery by healing damaged muscle cells.

Most people are unaware that proteins and grains create high levels of acid loads to the blood, and if this is not balanced out with alkaline rich vegetables and fruits, then too much acid can result in a loss of bone strength and muscle mass. So it is important to keep these acid levels balanced by
ingesting vegetables (and fruits) for their alkalinity to the blood.

The best way to get your vegetables is to cut them all up at the start of the week. This will make life easier and make them more accessible. Aim for at least 2 servings, which is the equivalent of 1-2 cups per meal. Yes, every 2-3 hours you must be eating veggies.

Principle #8: Eat Your Biggest Meal At Breakfast, Pre-Workout and Post-Workout

No matter what anyone says, I believe this is the safest and most effective way to

maximize your muscle:fat gain ratio when bulking. In this article we will not discuss the topic of nutrient timing.

Shortly we will discuss the benefits of packing the bulk of your calories around the most catabolic and anabolic times of the day so you will have sufficient energy to train hard and heavy without any risk of muscle breakdown, not to mention enough calories to support muscle growth. How much food you eat at a particular time of the day should be based on the NEEDS OF YOUR BODY AT THAT CURRENT MOMENT.

Principle #9: Plan Ahead

This principle could easily be number one because oftentimes it is not a shortage of information that creates a roadblock but our lack of CONSISTENCY and CREATIVITY. I bet if you did not change anything about what you are currently eating but ensured food was there when it was time to eat, you would experience a growth surge.

I strongly agree with the famous clich that states, Failing to plan is planning to fail.' It is so true. You must have a plan that will ensure you have the food prepared and cooked in the right selection and amounts every time you eat. This might require you to spend a few hours on Sunday evening cooking and storing all your food in Tupperware containers. This might mean waking up half an hour early so that you can cook all your meals for the day. This might require you to carry a lunch bag wherever you go. This might mean packing a few shaker bottles if you know you will be on the road most of the day. Bottom line - be prepared.

Principle #10: Eat Whole Foods 60% Of The Time and Liquid Meals 40% Of The Time

I often have my clients use as few supplements as possible for the first few months of training. You will be amazed at the results achieved by simply putting all your efforts into following your meal plan, proper training and sleep. It's a very eye-opening experience when they see almost immediate changes in body composition, health and energy levels.

Your food intake should come from high quality food at least 60 % of the time, which means at least 4 of the 6 meals you are eating.

This will ensure more vitamins, minerals, antioxidants and fiber that supplements and pills lack. Whole food is loaded with digestive enzymes as well that help the absorption of food instead of eating too much ground up' food in the form of powder. Power shakes will make your life much easier and will remove some of the inconveniences of having to cook and prepare food all day. Aim to use these at least 2 out of your 4 real meals a day and never more than three power shakes unless your life is extremely hectic and unmanageable.

Conclusion

Dedicate the next 12 weeks to putting these muscle building nutrition principles into action. Building muscle is really quite simple and exciting because you get to indulge in large quantities of food, try new recipes and become a master chef since you'll be spending more time in the kitchen. Taking these principles and applying them consistently over time and making them a part of your lifestyle is the secret.

Replacement Shower Filters: Make your skin and hair look healthy

Man is one of the most beautiful and intelligent creatures in this world. Man needs air, water and food for survival. In fact water is the second most important thing that man needs to survive on this planet. The importance of "healthy water" to our body can be understood from the fact that our body is nearly 70% water. Our blood is 83% water, muscles are 75% water. These figures really show the importance of pure water.

Pure water is a rarity today though 70% of the earth's surface is covered with water. Only 1% of the water on earth is potable. And the worrying factor is that man's greed has almost polluted this available stock of pure water. Careless industrialization and human population bombardment is the real culprit behind this dreadful water pollution. Generally Governments across the globe are using chlorine to disinfect water from harmful bacteria and viruses. But researches have shown that chlorine is dangerous to both human beings and animals.

Chlorine is more dangerous when it gets free through shower water. The exposure to chloroform in the shower can exceed that from drinking water by 600%. Chlorine in air can create acute respiratory problems in asthmatic patients. It affects the softness of skin and makes the quality of hair dull. It is one of the culprits behind the "early ageing" seen in many people. All of these factors had forced man to buy products like shower filters. The uses of shower filters have reduced the effects of chlorine on our body. The removal of chlorine from showering water guarantees softer skin and hair and also the body is able to maintain its natural moisturizing oils. And the best part is that shower filter saves your money. It reduces the need of expensive lotions and conditioners. The market is flooded with many types of shower filters. But the shower filters of best-shower-filters.com are the best in the market. It has the finest replacement shower filters of Aquasana in its stock. Homemade Natural Skin Care for 2007

Have you looked at the prices of natural skin care products lately? The growing interest in natural skin care has sky rocketed over the past decade. With the growing popularity of healthy looking skin there is a new buzz; homemade natural skin care. Next time you are seeking to do something healthy for your skin you may want to head for grocery store instead of the beauty supply or spa.

Don't Call Mary Kay

The best skin care treatments available today can be found in your local grocery store, in the produce section. 200 years ago our ancestors practiced the secrets of homemade natural skin care; long before Mary Kay or Avon came on the scene turning natural skin care into a multi billion dollar industry.

Honey is probably one of the oldest and most often used products in homemade natural skin care, as it has been used as a beauty product since the days of old and still continues to be used today in both manufactured and homemade natural skin care products.

The Morning Buzz Body Scrub

I recently used a homemade natural skin care recipe that includes the use of honey. This recipe is really quite simple, but extremely effective. The ingredients are: 2 Tbsp. honey, cup of freshly ground coffee, 2 Tbsp. wheat germ, 1 Tbsp. grape seed oil, cup buttermilk, and 1 egg white. Simply combine your buttermilk, honey, grape seed oil, and 1 egg white into a clean bowl. Mix these ingredients thoroughly while slowly adding the coffee and wheat germ, being careful not to allow the mixture to clump up. Make sure to mix until the scrub reaches a smooth and creamy texture, but having just a slight grit to it. It works best to apply this mixture while taking a shower or bath, using a body sponge or moist wash cloth to aid in the exfoliation process.
The ingredients for homemade natural skin care are many. You can find many good homemade natural skin care recipes online. Search for the term homemade natural skin care and see the incredible possibilities and money saving techniques available.

Top Eight Tips to Get a Radiant Skin!

Young, fresh, healthy and radiant! Whether you are sixteen or sixty, this is how you want your skin to be. How do you seek to achieve your objectives? Do you propose to get the best skin care products? Or are you aiming for costly medications? Put it on hold for now. You could improve the texture of your skin through natural skin care.

Before going to free tips for skin care beauty?, learn your skin type. The type of your skin could be normal, dry, oily, sensitive or combination. Your friends may insist that people with normal skin are the lucky' ones. But, it doesn't mean that they should absolutely ignore their skin. Remember that natural skin care methods could go a long way in improving your skin. Now, let us go through the following free skin care tips:

Tip #1: Cleanse Your Skin

Do you apply heavy makeup when leaving for work? Then, don't forget to remove the makeup after you return from the workplace. Your exposure to wind, sun, pollutions and even air conditioning could block the pores of your skin. You don't have to run to the beautician to clean your skin. Just dip a piece of cotton wool in the milk and wipe your skin. You could also dip the cotton wool in almond oil and clean the skin under your eyes.

Tip #2: Eat Healthy Food

Chocolate, candies, French fries and Pizzas! As delicious as they are, these food items are deemed to be the enemies of your skin. They could cause blemishes and make your skin oily. It is hard to digest the fact, but reduce the intake of these delicacies for the betterment of your skin.

Tip #3: Exercise Regularly

The tasteless water could very well help in improving your complexion. Eight glasses of water along with regular exercise could have a positive impact on your complexion. What kind of exercises? Walking, running, jogging or even engaging in sports could have the desired effect on your skin.

Tip #4: Replace Your Dead Skin Cells

Don't ignore dead skin cells. Note that you have to exfoliate at least twice a week to replace your dead skin cells. Do you have broken capillaries? In that case, care should be taken before exfoliating.

Tip #5: Reduce Exposure to the Sun

Is it possible to escape the ill effects of hot sun? Exposure to the sun could leave your skin with blotches and premature wrinkles. Do you have to go out between 10: am and 3: pm? In that case, wear sun glasses and wide rimmed hats to prevent direct exposure to the sun.

Tip #6: Use Natural Moisturizer

Is your environment surrounded by pollutants and dust? Then, it would be better for you to use a natural moisturizer. These moisturizers can protect and hydrate your skin. How do you prepare a nourishing mask at home? Blend white cosmetic clay with mashed banana and apply on your face. Wash after a few minutes.

Tip #7: Avoid Excessive Use of Cosmetics

Excessive use of cosmetics could have an adverse effect on your skin and health. People remain unaware that most of the cosmetics contain dangerous chemicals like parabens, thus paving way for cancer. If not cancer, these chemicals could cause serious allergies. So, it is better to minimize the excessive use of cosmetics.

Tip #8: Maintain Healthy Lifestyle

Are you addicted to alcohol and cigarettes? Then, you are sure to get all kinds of skin problems. Wrinkles and blotches may find haven in your skin. Stay away from alcohol and cigarettes if you want healthy skin. Try to stay cool, so as to avoid fatigue and stress.

Taking care of your skin is hardly a difficult process. Healthy lifestyle with proactive skin care could leave the right impact on your skin. Care for your skin and it would never betray you.

Skin care - Health Tips for Anti Aging

I walked into the hospital room. She lay on her bed with tubes running from her arms and electrodes taped to her chest. Equipment at the side of the room recorded her heartbeat and blood pressure.

She looked up at me and said, "I know you." I smiled. She studied my face for a few moments. Finally she said, "Yes, I know you. You're my son Billy!"

That was my mother about a month before she died. She was 85 years old. She had had Alzheimer disease, the most common cause of dementia.

The chances of having dementia rise as you get older. By age 85, about 35 out of 100 people have it1. After watching my mother I hoped I could figure out how to fit into the sixty five percent who grow old with a strong, active brain.

The Brain's Functions

The brain is your body's control center. It controls the autonomic nervous system, those automatic activities such as respiration, digestion, and heartbeat. It controls the somatic nervous system which activates your sense organs and muscles. It also controls conscious activities such as reasoning, abstraction, decision making and thought. It defines your characteristics and personality. Your brain controls every activity in your body.

As you age, your brain begins to function at a slower pace. It also takes longer to rejuvenate. Your lifestyle, as well as other external factors, will affect your brain's aging process. The good news is there are ways to enhance the power of your brain as time catches up with you. The following are four ways to help slow your brain's aging process.

1. Live a Healthy Life

The second most common cause of dementia is atherosclerosis, or in simple terms, hardening of the arteries in the brain. This is known as vascular dementia, accounting for as many as 40% of cases. Vascular dementia has been linked to high blood pressure, high cholesterol levels, heart disease, diabetes and related conditions. Most experts feel that treating these underlying conditions can decrease the odds of contracting vascular dementia or, if a person already has it, can slow its progress. These diseases are often accelerated by smoking, excessive drinking and both prescription and recreational drug use.

Smoking is bad for your health. It is also bad for your brain. A study conducted in the Netherlands followed 7,000 people age 55 and older for an average of seven years. During that time, 706 of the participants developed dementia. Smokers were found to be fifty percent more likely to develop dementia than people who had never smoked or had quit before participating in the study.

Alcohol abuse has been linked to15 to 25 percent of all dementia cases2. Alcohol affects the brain directly as a neurotoxin and is the cause of serious long term negative effects on the central nervous system. Alcohol abuse can lead to malnutrition, vitamin deficiencies and can also cause liver damage. Studies show that these can lead to brain shrinkage and brain damage.

Illegal drugs can also cause dementia. Cocaine affects circulation and has been shown to cause small strokes. Heroin, if taken for long periods of time or in older people, can block the neurotransmitter acetylcholine which is involved with learning and memory.

2. Eat Healthy Foods.

As a general rule, good nutrition for the body is also good for the brain. Healthy eating has been shown to reduce the risk of many chronic diseases such as diabetes, osteoporosis, cancer and heart disease. It also increases your chances of living a fuller, longer life.

To function properly your brain needs top quality fuel. A diet that includes five servings of fruits and vegetables a day, carbohydrates such as whole grain breads, pasta and cereals, as well as fats and protein can provide this for you.

Sometimes called brain food, fish is a rich source of unsaturated fat and protein. A study published in the Archives of Neurology3 found that eating fish at least once a week slowed down the development of dementia in elderly men and women. Overall mental function declined at a rate ten percent slower in these fish eaters when compared to peers who did not eat fish as often. Mental function in elderly men and women who ate fish two or more times a week declined at a rate thirteen percent slower than those who did not eat fish.

One final portion of a healthy diet that many people overlook is drinking plenty of fluids. A dehydrated brain doesn't think clearly. Remember, plain old water is the healthiest fluid you can drink.

3. Exercise Your Body

A study published in the Journal of the American Medical Association, consisting of 2257 Japanese-American men between 71 and 93 years old, reported that regular exercise can protect against the development of Alzheimer's disease. The research from a number of organizations including the Department of Veteran Affairs and the Pacific Health Research Institute, also suggests that it is better to exercise throughout your life rather than trying to make up for an unhealthy lifestyle in your later years.

Exercise helps us feel better both physically and emotionally. It can help improve our self image. It also improves our strength and endurance. It decreases body fat, improves movement to joints and muscles and increases the body's ability to process oxygen. Regular exercise helps reduce depression while reducing the risks of cardiovascular disease.

What kind of exercise program should you engage in? It depends on your particular likes and your body's physical condition. If you are over forty five and haven't exercised in a while, you should check with your doctor before beginning any type of exercise program.

Your exercise program should include both cardiovascular and strength building exercises. Cardiovascular exercises are good for your heart. These include walking, swimming, and bicycling and for best results should be done for at least thirty minutes a day, every day. Strength building exercises build your muscles while helping keep your bones dense, reducing the chance of osteoporosis. This can be anything from calisthenics to weight training.

A favorite exercise of mine is Tai Chi, a combination of slow, circular movements. A study by the Harvard Medical School showed that older women who practice Tai Chi regularly experienced a better fitness boost than walking briskly for three hours per week. The study pointed out that this was due to better oxygen utilization.

Tai Chi can help people suffering from arthritis and even osteoporosis. There is some evidence that indicates that the enhanced mind and body connection resulting from the practice of Tai chi can help protect against dementia and Alzheimer's disease.

Whether it's Tai Chi or any other type of exercise the most important thing is to just do it.

4. Reduce Stress

Stress increases your heart rate and blood pressure and can lead to stroke. There are two categories of stress. The first type, acute stress, is also known as the flight or fight reaction where the brain produces chemicals that tell the body to speed up, making it perform more effectively. This is the type of stress you'll experience when another car pulls out in front of you causing you to hit your brakes suddenly. This type of stress is normal and short-lived.

The second type of stress is known as chronic or long-term stress. This stress is abnormal and long lasting. There is strong evidence that this type of stress actually damages the brain. It occurs when we don't let go of stress. Chronic stress increases the release of stress hormones. Studies have shown that these stress hormones can actually kill nerve cells in animals and can probably do the same in humans.

One method of reducing chronic stress is through exercise. Stress can also be reduced through meditation. Another proven method is through hypnosis. Using the visualization process hypnosis can help a person learn to remain calm and relaxed even while experiencing an event that had been stressful to them in the past.

Whatever method of stress reduction you choose, it's important to remember that taking steps to reduce chronic stress will improve your overall health. It will also help you sustain your mental abilities.

Wrinkle creams: Your guide to younger looking skin

The smelly parts of a fish may soon become important beauty ingredients. This was revealed by scientists at the National Institute of Water and Atmospheric Research (NIWA) who said that fish waste could hold the key to a wrinkle-free future.

That's not saying you should collect leftover fish parts, grind them to a paste, and rub them all over your face tonight. Researchers say it doesn't work that way. But they think that fish skin, liver, gills, eyes, and other fish waste may soon make their way to cosmetics counters everywhere.

That may sound fishy but researchers found that fish waste has the ability to penetrate skin cells and prevent wrinkles from forming. The basis for their optimism is a five-year-old study involving no less than 150 different species of fish.

While looking into the ability of fish parts to affect skin cells, they discovered that the yuckiest parts of the fish actually have skin-regenerating properties. Skin cells that were exposed to these smelly fish parts lasted longer and aged slower.

"They don't act like ordinary UV protectants for example, which primarily put a layer over the top of your skin, but seem to actually get into the cells and actually protect from within the cell," said NIWA's Dr Vicki Webb.

Because of these encouraging results, fish waste will soon be added to skin creams in France for human testing. Department store beauty personnel are already brimming with enthusiasm and excitement as they prepare for this fishy revolution in skin care.

"It's probably one of those products that people will come and try and if they find it works for them they will continue to purchase it," said Gary Nicholson of the Kirkcaldie & Stains department store.

Those who are open to experimentation might be bold enough to apply the fish parts themselves but NIWA cautioned against this, saying not all parts are good for the skin.

"Don't try this at home," researchers said.

For now, you can avoid wrinkles by limiting your exposure to the sun's deadly rays, using a good moisturizer and sunscreen, stop smoking, and avoiding repeated facial expressions like smiling or frowning. If you can't wait for fish creams to appear in the market and desperately want to get rid of wrinkles fast, a safer alternative is Dermaxin. This powerful wrinkle fighter contains a host of anti-aging ingredients that rejuvenate and revitalize the skin to give you a healthy glow. Check out http://www.dermaxin.com for details.

Acne Skin Care - What Works and What Does Not?

Tetracycline is the most popular conventional treatment for acne. It may be used alone or in combination with benzoyl peroxide. Food, antacids, iron supplements, and milk can interfere with the absorption of this antibiotic, so it is important to remember to take it alone. This medication must be taken for a minimum of three months, and it often needs to be continued for even longer. It will take at least two months before any improvement is noticed. Other antibiotics may also be prescribed if tetracycline is not effective. These include: trimetoprim-sulfamethoxazole, minocycline, doxycycline, and erythromycin. Antibiotics also kill the good bacteria in your bowel and can cause your teeth to turn gray.

There are many other adults that are finding they still have to fight the battle with acne - now coined "adult acne". It is estimated that more than fifty percent of adult women between the ages of twenty-five and fifty-eight have some type of adult acne, and those numbers are only getting larger.

Isotretinoin: Like the topical retinoic acid, this medication is a derivative of vitamin A and it works to prevent the blockage of oil glands. However, blocking the glands does not fix the problem.

Eye shadows, blush on, moisturizer, and other cosmetics we use should be free from oily substances to permit healthy acne skin care maintenance. Even hairstyling products in forms of gels or aerosols that come in close contact with the skin may destroy a healthy acne skin care practice. Choose hairstyling products, which are commercially labeled as non-comedogenic are products which do not provoke the formation and growth of blemishes and other related skin disorders.

Though acne is a common problem, it is also one skin disease that is very easy to treat and prevent. There are many products that a person could consider as the best acne treatment. The best acne treatment for a person could be not the best acne treatment for another. This is because the best acne treatment is determined by the type of skin a person has and the skin reaction on that treatment. The best acne treatment could also range from the medical ones which are proven best acne treatments that modern medicine has to offer up to herbal medicines that are also accepted as the best acne treatment to some people.

Although there are some topical skin care products and medications that can improve mild scarring and acne problems, almost all of them are artificial and invasive methods. For example, acne scars usually are treated with a combination of surgical procedures and skin resurfacing. On the other hand, natural products only have natural ingredients and biological substances. Such is the case with tea tree oil, green tea extract, Vitamin E, rapeseed oil, Aloe vera, and some of the essential oils, which had long been proven to act upon blemishes on the skin.

Essential Fatty Acids and Skin Care

Omegas 3, 6 & 9 are the three important groups of Essential Fatty Acids (EFA's). They are important because if eaten regularly together with fruit and fresh green vegetables, they can benefit both our health and our skin.

These EFA's should form a greater part of our diet than they do but today we eat less and less of them and thereby dismissing the help they offer towards fighting off the premature aging of our skin.

However, having said that it is important to get the right balance of these fats, too much of one without the other is not good for us. A healthy balance is suggested as four to five parts of omega 3 and one of omega 6. Too much of the omega6 group of fats alone can lead to health problems and many of us today are guilty of using oils in salads, spreads containing oils and oils for cooking.

Mediterranean style diets are healthier than ours as they have a more appropriate balance of omega 3 and omega 6 fatty acids. People there eat high amounts of whole grains and nuts, fresh fruits, vegetables, fish, olive oils and garlic but little red meat that can sometimes be high in omega 6 fats.

Getting the right balance is no only beneficial to our overall health but it will also do a great job in moisturizing our skin too. Dry skin will start to improve and in turn lines and wrinkles will begin to diminish.

Towel -dry after a hot bath and check how dry your skin is. If it is very dry it may be that the level of intake of Essential Fatty Acids needs to be increased.

Omega 3.

These are a very important group of fats, as they will help increase the body's metabolic rate and that in turn burns off fat. They have anti- inflammatory properties and inflammation can play a big part in skin aging.

Foods in this group are oily fish, salmon, mackerel, herring, tuna and sardines. Some spreads and yogurts too can contain fats in the omega 3 group and so it is always worthwhile checking labels.

Omega 6.

This group of fats can be found in avocados, nuts and seeds. Also in margarines and sunflower oils, although good for us, consumption of too much of these fats without being balanced against an intake of foods in the omega 3 groups of foods can be unhealthy.

Omega 9

These fats are found in good quality virgin oil, much better for salad dressings if used sparingly.

It is important also to know that there are other fats in foods today that you should try hard to avoid if you want to maintain good health and better looking skin. Foods containing high levels of fat and sugars should form a very small part of your diet, less than 10%. For good health and for good skin too limit your intake of fatty sugary foods particularly those full of saturated fats and trans-fatty acid (trans fats).

Saturated fats and trans-fatty acids are destructive. They are known to raise blood cholesterol levels and this in turn can lead to heart problems, they also are known to break up skin cell structure causing a reduction in moisture and the skin's ability to maintain its firmness and flexibility.

Beef and other animal fats, Sausages, Bacon, cheeseburgers, butter, margarine, doughnuts, ice creams, fries, biscuits, milk and cream along with other fast foods and puddings are or contain either saturated fats or trans-fatty acids. The trans-fats are used in food manufacturing to improve texture and increase the shelf life of foods such as, some cakes and biscuits, fast foods & ready-made meals.

There are ways that you can help yourself to reduce your consumption of "bad fats" particularly so as you will then protect your cholesterol levels and in turn help towards a healthy heart.

Always check labels to find the low fat foods.

Try a different way of cooking, perhaps grill instead of frying.

Use lower fat salad dressings.

Remove some fat from meats and the skin from poultry.

Once you learn the benefits of a healthy diet and you get used to eating this way you will soon see how better your skin looks, your body becomes trimmer, your moods change and you will have that overall feeling of health and vitality.

You may want to eat this way on a permanent basis and it is a good base on which to build for more youthful healthier looking skin.

Skin Care and Burn Scar Removal

Skin burns can provoke serious traumas, both physically and emotionally. Have superficial burn scars markedly transformed your attitude and way of life? Do you dwell upon the fateful moment every time you look at the scar? Do you want to move on with your life and forget that painful moment? Burn scars are more than just superficial. Why not at least eliminate the outer scarring and start healing emotionally? The scar cream we will review here can not erase agonizing memories but it can treat skin.

Burns can injure tendons, muscles, and skin. Multiple surgeries and skin grafts normally follow serious burns. Keloids or hypertrophic burn scars are a few of the painful reminders that can develop after the fact. After a skin injury, very few people want to go under the knife. Who wants more stress after a skin burn?

The texture of your skin can be improved and those hyperthropic scars or keloid scars left behind by burns on your body can be diminished significantly. Also the pigmentation changes that result from skin grafts. Even reduced mobility as a consequence of contractures can be restored with the use of the topical product, and without further surgery.

Heal Burn Scars With A Scar Cream Made With a Natural Renewal Activator.

We are here to tell you there is now something that can help heal burn scars simply and from the cosiness of your own home. It is a biological burn scar treatment cream that burn sufferers can apply twice daily and see the same results as with laser surgeries and other invasive methods. This biological skin care treatment treats burn scars from within, both delicately and efficiently. There is no high priced laser involved or removing pieces of skin and reattaching them. There is only topical application of a skin care treatment that will diffuse and remove burn scars on a cellular level while remodeling healthy skin elements, but it must be applied at least twice a day for several months.

I realize it sounds far fetched or too good to be true but many people have already experienced it and say it is for real. The phone calls and compliments we receive from happy customers give us a little peak into people's lives. Keloid scars that have been burdens on people's lives for years have been dissolved. Hyperthropic scars that defined skin are no longer there. People are able to move past the initial healing stage since seeing the superficial burn scar is no longer a part of their daily routine. Full recovery from a painful experience like a burn can take time. Removing the scarred remains and purchasing an efficient scarring treatment is a very important step for many who want to move on with their lives.

Scar Healing Must be Stimulated from the Inside Out Using a Natural Skin Renewal Activator.

What makes this scar treatment cream sound for treatment of burn scars is the capacity of the biological ingredient to combine with human cells and rejuvenate the regenerative capability of blistered skin. When administered topically on the skin, the cream helps the skin recover its normal structure and function.

Natural occurring enzymes possessed in the new scar treatment cream stimulate fibroblast creation. Fibroblasts provide a needed framework for the skin by supplying the connective tissues necessary to uphold the skin's matrix. This is crucial in wound healing, renewing the flawed tissues with new, healthy versions.

Fibroblasts secrete the precursors of all the elements of the extracellular matrix, chiefly the ground substance and a variety of fibers.

The new burn scar treatment can diffuse damaged tissues with biological enzymes. Keloid scars and excessive collagen deposits are eliminated and changed into their amino acid elements and turned back into the system for skin rejuvenation. Natural skin renewal is needed to remove burn scars and purge the skin of all dead or damaged cells.

The natural burn scar treatment has low molecular weight ingredients that possess antioxidant and anti-inflammatory qualities. These factors help reduce oxidative damage and free radical formation, maintaining the healthy cells near a skin trauma.

The product possess anti bacterial agents that can eliminate any unsafe bacteria that might further do harm to a burn. Burns and open skin wounds are common breeding grounds for dangerous bacteria. Killing bacteria before they can further defile a burn wound is crucial to maintain skin health after a burn.

100 % Natural Skin Care Cream for all Types of Skin Problems

People who use natural skin care goods are looking for creams and lotions that provide discernable results. Baby boomers and college age people use natural products like lotions, facial soaps, foaming facial washes and peel-off facial masks because they have become sick of stronger treatments. People are ok with paying a few more dollars on products because they believe the positive benefits are worth the extra dollars but natural does not automatically mean it is an ideal solution for everyone. The allure with natural skin care creams and lotions can be tied into a change in people's priorities and lifestyles. People are becoming more conscious of the world and the environment. They commonly believe that natural acne lotions are environmentally friendlier and better for their skin than their pharmaceutical counterparts. For the most part, that belief holds up but natural skin care creams and lotions are not always what people think they are.Natural Skin Care There are a few thoughts to keep in mind when looking for a natural acne care product. First of all, is the cream environmentally friendly? Not all products are. Cosmetic lotions and creams can and often do emit a considerable amount of wastes into the air on a daily basis. According to some recent reports, elements like fluorocarbons, acetone, and phenols contained in a good number of natural skin care products dematerialize and contribute to ozone issues. Not only can this affect air quality but it can change the breeding habits of some fish species. When some additives evaporate into the air, they can bed down in lakes and rivers and affect the breeding habits of fish and other animals. Natural skincare lotions regularly contain botanical elements. Have you ever thought that maybe those same plants were treated with pesticides and fertilizers? Would you still feel the same about your new natural skin care product if this were the case? Is your natural skin care product truly supporting your skin? There are many "natural" skincare companies who include parabens and additives in their reatments. Preservatives need to be toxic to pathogens in order to boost the shelf life of the product. Now parabens have been the norm but recently there have been some contentious studies questioning the toxicity of the compound and its power in the development of tumors. While tumor development would be undoubtedly rare, more common adverse effects of parabens include general inflammation and contact dermatitis.Natural Ingredients in a Skin Care Product Certain natural ingredients are more advanced than others. Are you looking for an all natural acne care product that was not altered by preservatives or will not affect the ozone layer? Thanks to the discovery of a new biological skin care ingredient, you can speed up the natural renewal process of your own skin and shed old, dying cells and let new, healthy ones emerge to give the skin a more vibrant appearance. When applied topically to fresh, clean skin, the biological ingredient will fuse with your own skin cells and:* soothe irritated skin by governing the expansion of capillaries that often cause blotches on the skin. This releases fibrin which protects the fragile inner walls of the capillaries and advances unhindered blood flow.* stimulate collagen synthesis by improving cellular communication in the body. Increasing the ability of cells to communicate between themselves inspires the proliferation of fibroblasts in the skin. Fibroblasts boost collagen and elastin fibers in the skin, making it sturdy and strong.* contain oxidative damage and free radical formation using ingredients that possess antioxidant and anti-inflammatory qualities. This helps protect the healthy cells near a skin trauma. * revive the capacity of the skin layers to stay full of moisture by excite the biosynthesis of glycosaminoglycans and proteoglycans, the elements that give the lipid barrier its ability to keep in water. This thickens the skin. Strong elements prevent dry skin and help avoid cracking and flaking.

Dry Peeling Skin - How do I Get Rid of Dry Peeling Skin?

Everyone suffers from dry skin every now and then. Sometimes, however, dead skin peels off in such large quantities that it's impossible not to worry that something is terribly wrong. This article deals with the possible causes of dry peeling skin, its treatments, and whether or not it necessitates a visit to the doctor's office.

For the most part, peeling dry skin does not constitute a medical emergency. The skin is made of three parts: the top layer (epidermis), a middle layer (dermis), and an inner layer (hypodermis). Every 28 days, the epidermis completely replaces its skin cells. This may result in some peeling, more evident in some people than in others.

Dry peeling skin has many other possible causes. The more common ones include dry skin, sunburn, Vitamin A overdose, and chemical irritation due to exposure to household cleaners and solvents. In the winter, falling temperatures and humidity dehydrates the skin and may cause some peeling. Excessive sun exposure causes the top layer of the skin, the epidermis, to peel naturally. The overdose of Vitamin A (usually in the form of acne-treating gels like Retin-A) can cause the skin to thin and peel. The harsh ingredients in many household cleaners can harm the skin on your hands if you don't use rubber gloves.

Some of the more serious causes include eczema, psoriasis, or toxic epidermal necrolysis (TEN). Eczema is an inflammation of the epidermis and is marked by red, dry skin that may flake, blister, or bleed. Psoriasis is a possibly-genetic medical condition that is characterized by rapidly-growing skin that peel off in scales. TEN, also called toxic skin death, is caused by an unusual allergic reaction to common drugs, such as sulfa drugs, gout medications or penicillin. People afflicted with TEN must be hospitalized.

Another hereditary cause of dry peeling skin is the Peeling Skin Syndrome, a skin condition marked by dry skin that continuously peels off. Redness and itchiness may also accompany the dry peeling skin. Medical consultation is often needed to treat this skin condition.

Most of the common skin-care treatments work well in treating dry peeling skin. For starters, make sure to drink enough fluids daily (a half-gallon is average) to avoid the tendency of getting dry skin in the first place. Dry skin is usually a sign of dehydration.

Resist the temptation to pick or scratch the dry peeling skin: doing so can open breaks in the skin and invite infection. This is particularly dangerous for people with eczema or psoriasis, as the infection can seep into the tissue and worsen the skin condition. To cut a piece of peeling skin, use a pair of fine scissors to snip at the larger flakes. Pulling or tearing at the flakes can cause you to accidentally tear healthy skin with it.

Sticking to a diet rich in protein, iron, and the Vitamins A, B and C can show an improvement in your skin in as little as a month. Protein-rich foods include meat (not fried!), fish, nuts, and dairy products. You can get your iron from beans, peas, and cereals. Lots of citrus fruit and vegetables will help you get your daily intake of Vitamins A, B, and C--and it wouldn't hurt to throw in a few dietary supplements in for good measure!

Many doctors also suggest a cool shower or Aveeno bath to ease the discomfort of dry peeling skin, especially if the condition affects most parts of the body. Also, make the switch to a milder soap; switching to a cleanser is an even better idea. Two cups of Aveeno in a tub of lukewarm water will do the trick; don't use hot water as it aggravates dry skin. Make sure you don't stay in the water for longer than twenty minutes, or risk losing more moisture. After the shower, pat yourself dry and apply moisturizer to the affected areas.

Always wear sunscreen during the day: sun exposure is a leading cause of dry skin and wrinkles. Even then, try to stay in the shade between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. This is when ultraviolet (UV) radiation from the sun is at its most concentrated.

When do you go to see the doctor? Rule of thumb for all dry skin problems is to schedule a visit when the dryness and itchiness become severe enough to interfere with common daily activities, such as self-care and sleeping. If you have dry peeling skin, also visit the doctor when the problem escalates with taking a new medication, or if the dry peeling skin comes with a rash.

Skin Yeast Infections

Although vaginal yeast infections may be the more common type of yeast infection, there are several types of yeast infections which can affect a person. These include mouth yeast infections, penile yeast infections, and skin yeast infections. Each of these types of yeast infections are contagious and may be passed from person to person if contact is made with any portion of the infected area. For penile and vaginal yeast infections this normally occurs as a result of sexual intercourse with an infected person.

Skin yeast infections may also occur in a similar way although not as a result of sexual intercourse. If you do come into contact with a person who has skin yeast infections there is a very good chance that the infection will be passed to you. The same applies to using the same towel as a person with skin yeast infections. It is highly recommended that you keep your towel separate from all other towels while you have skin yeast infections and until you are cured.

Your clothes must also be kept separately and all personal items. When your infection has cleared, you must continue this vigilance and launder your clothes and towel separately. Always dry your clothes in the dryer for at least 20 minutes. Although it may sound old fashioned you should first soak your infected clothes in boiling water prior to a full laundering as well to thoroughly eliminate all signs of the skin yeast infections.

Another thing that you can do if you suffer from skin yeast infections is to gently pat yourself dry instead of rubbing, the places where you have skin yeast infections. This should prevent the abrasion of the towel and if you have a rash or irritation which is tender, this will help to minimize the pain you might otherwise feel. Just as there were no over the counter medications available for vaginal yeast infections until a few years ago, there are no over the counter medications available for skin yeast infections at the time of this writing.

For skin yeast infections treatments you will need to ask your doctor what options are available to you. There will be a few, but they will for the most part be prescription medications not over the counter as are available for vaginal yeast infections. You may also compliment these medications with such things as herbal teas, tinctures and oils. Always ask your doctor beforehand to make sure that they do not react adversely with your medication.

Skin yeast infections are also relatively easy to diagnose, although it's not recommended that you do so yourself. Always go to trained medical personnel to get a diagnosis. This can save you a lot of time and wasted effort and will make sure that you get the necessary treatment.

Eat Just Enough Fat and Make Yourself Skinny

Everyone has heard about the importance of keeping the level of fat in the diet to a minimum. While some fat in the diet is necessary, most Americans eat far too many fatty foods. Fats do play a vital role in the diet, including in the absorption of important fat soluble vitamins like vitamin A, vitamin D, vitamin E and vitamin K. These vitamins are stored in fatty tissues, and dietary fat aids in this process.

Too much fat in the diet, however has been linked to high cholesterol, heart disease and even some kinds of cancers. Eating less fat, especially less saturated fat and trans fats, is an important part of adopting healthier eating habits.

For this reason, it is important to use foods that are high in dietary fats as an occasional snack or treat, and not as a staple of the diet. Many meats are high in fat, so it is important to choose lean cuts of meat whenever possible, and to trim excess fat from steaks and chops. Even some poultry can be high in fat, and for this reason, removing the skin from chicken, and avoiding fatty dark meat, is a good practice to follow.

When planning your healthy eating lifestyle, it is important to remember that fat, whether from plant or animal sources, contains more than twice the number of calories per gram as protein or carbohydrates. Experts recommend that people limit the amount of dietary fat to no more than 30% of total calories. Since fat is so calorie dense, simply cutting back on the number of fat grams per day can result in a significant lowering of daily calorie consumption. That is why low fat diets are so effective for weight loss.

Some fats are worse than others there are both saturated and unsaturated varieties of fats. Unsaturated fats further break down into monounsaturated and polyunsaturated varieties. In general, unsaturated fats are healthier than saturated fats. Saturated fats have been shown to raise levels of cholesterol in the blood more than unsaturated fat. Reducing the level of saturated fats to fewer than 10 percent of daily calories is a proven way to lower levels of cholesterol in the blood.

Meat, milk, dairy products and eggs are the main sources of saturated fats in moth diets. In addition, many baked goods are also rich in saturated fats, since they are often cooked in fatty oils and contain eggs and other fatty ingredients.

When cooking with oils, it is important to choose the healthiest ones. Olive oil and canola oil both use unsaturated fats, and they tend to be very useful in healthy cooking. There are even such things as good fats. In particular, omega-3 oils found in fish are good sources of these fats. Omega-3 oils have been shown to have a protective effect on the heart, and in lowering blood cholesterol levels.

Listed below are some of our favorite tips for keeping dietary fat and cholesterol as low as possible:

Use fatty cooking oils sparingly

Make fatting foods an occasional treat, not an everyday source of nutrition

Pay close attention to the nutritional labels on packaged foods and meats. These labels provide valuable information on fat content, calorie content and nutritional quality.

Eat a diet rich in low fat foods like whole grains, fruits and vegetables

Choose low fat varieties of your favorite foods whenever possible. There are excellent nonfat varieties of milk, dairy products, baked goods, and more

Choose lean cuts of meat whenever possible, and trim additional fat before cooking and serving

Cutting fat is not easy, but the many benefits of a low fat diet make it a very worthwhile change. There are few dietary changes that impart as many health benefits as does cutting the fat from your diet. A few changes here and there can add up to a huge change and make a real difference in your health.
